Dr Sayeh Ezzikouri received his PhD in 2008 from the University of Chouaib Doukkali El Jadida, Morocco. In 2022, he took up a Research Director position in Virology unit at the Institut Pasteur du Maroc. His current research interests in the field of the epidemiology, virology and genetic aspects of hepatitis viruses and liver cancer in the Maghreb region with more than 82 papers. From 2013 to 2015, he moved to the transboundary animal diseases centre, Joint Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kagoshima University, Kagoshima, Japan as assistant professor to work with Prof Kyoko Tsukiyama-Kohara’s group on establishment of small animal model of infection with hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus and related disease and also on biomarkers and drug discovery. He is currently works as head of Viral hepatitis Laboratory, Virology Unit, Institut Pasteur du Maroc, 1, Place Louis Pasteur, 20360, Casablanca, Morocco. He is recipient of many national and international awards. He serves as editorial board member and reviewer of number of journals.

Candidacy and Agenda for 2024-2026
As head of viral hepatitis laboratory and associate researcher since 2017 in Pasteur institute of Morocco, I have extensive experience in managing a team and research project, teaching and supervising students. Also, I have developed several partnerships with many scientists around word (Africa, Europe, Asia and USA).
All my successful experiences were mainly due to the participatory governance with all partners to make sound decisions and will be used to serve the progress of WSV goals.
With the support of the other WSV board members, I will organize a virtual fundraising event and call on all kinds of donors around the world.
I will be in touch with several virologists worldwide including eminent virologists, and also virologists from the developing countries.
I will plan a WSV promotion through contacting virology societies universities. Also, I will establish a potential email list from virologists worldwide and emailed them to join WSV.
